２０１３年５月１３日、二つの英国の科学誌に発表された研究報告によると、
ヒトゲノムの分析により、精巣がんの遺伝的要因と先天性心疾患の非遺伝的要因について新たな手掛かりを得た。

英国科学誌 Nature Genetics に発表された米国ペンシルベニア大学の研究によると、
精巣がんのリスクを高める4つの遺伝子突然変異が新たに見つかった。
